Lots of links and rain!

We, and by “we” I mean “Andrew” finally did our taxes. We, and by we I mean “we”, had a moment of panic when the IRS rejected the efile. It was all my fault. It said my name wasn’t right and I just about had a panic attack (not really, but I was deeply concerned that the name change stuff I did a year ago hadn’t stuck). It turned out that there was a typo on the form. It was trying to match me to a “wakins”. Whew. Crisis averted.

Speaking of averted crises, Friday has opened up and will now be less stressful. We aren’t meeting Kenley anymore, so we’ll be able to sleep just a touch more. Woo!

So, I didn’t think the car was as dirty as God did. Man did it rain yesterday night (and all day today so far)! It rained so hard I couldn’t see Lauren’s building from our house. It’s only like 100-150 yards away. Sheesh! I like Florida. You can see the rain coming. I remember once in Penwood I think, that we were outside looking at Doak and in like 2 seconds it disappeared. That rain was hauling! We got back inside real quick. I always liked that at Pap’s house too. The trees in the pasture would disappear and then the rain would start at the house. I guess it’s like that in other places besides Florida, I just haven’t experienced it. Another thing that is way cool is when you are at the beach and there is a storm coming. I love how you can see the edge. It’s prettiest at sunrise when it’s all pink and purple and stormy.

It's been a while

It’s been a long time since last post. I feel better now. Yay!

So here’s what happened: I slept a lot. But seriously, TMH was great from what I remember. Everyone was really nice. They gave me something to “relax” that promptly made me fall asleep. I woke up once in recovery to throw up on myself. The nurse said something and shoved a towel on my shoulder. I fell back asleep. The second time however, I was aware enough to tell the nurse and she gave me a cup. The towel I think had disappeared by then. By the third time, I was pretty awake and got a new cup and they decided to give me something else to combat the nausea. Which almost immediately made me fall back to sleep. Andrew said it took a lot longer to wake up than they had told us.

We stopped to eat on the way home. My throat was really sore from the breathing tube I guess. I had to take a sip of water with every bite to get it to swallow. I didn’t eat much and I was falling asleep again. That’s pretty much how it went for a few days. They gave me Percocet, but it is more of an uncomfortable thing than a hurt thing, so I only ended up using a few. They didn’t help. I hate sleeping on my sides. I think I’m over the sleeping-on-my-side thing because Andrew said I was sleeping on my back snoring a few days ago.

We went to Ruby Tuesday for some “roughage” because all I had eaten in as few days was fries. When Andrew left to use the bathroom I began arguing with a song on the radio just as the waiter stopped by. I might be embarrassed the next time we go if I could remember who the guy was. Silly anesthesia.

Andrew’s family came over for pizza on Monday. It was the most that I was able to sit up without being dizzy. I think everyone had a good time.

I have one more appointment to get the stitches out and then I’ll be golden!

On a completely unrelated note, it was so cold this morning that all the grass had frost on it. I hope I didn’t kill my spider plants. We went to get coffee and there was such a layer of ice on the car that the cup kept sliding off the roof. Silly ice. Temperatures in the teens are too cold.

Thermometer

Thanksgiving pictures! I captioned all of them.

I got in the car this morning and I think the thermometer finally broke. I picked it up and it said 2ÂșC. I hit a button to see if it would switch back to Fahrenheit, when all of a sudden it let out a tone and wouldn’t turn off. The screen however disappeared. I think it is still toning.

If anyone knows someone who is a size 10, I think I have some clothes for them.

Cold

If people were meant to live in the cold, we would look like yaks.

I hope my plants don't die. I left them outside last night (mid-20's! Yikes!).

Jokes

Last night we went bowling with Paige. It was a lot of fun. I wish it didn’t hurt my finger so much though.

This morning was strange. There was like a yellow tint to everything. It wasn’t just around our house though, people at work saw it too. It was a little eerie.

I feel like laughing today. Here are some jokes:

Randomness

So I brought my spider plants in out of the cold. I set their tray on a cookie sheet. I don’t know when to put them back outside though. There is a frost warning for tonight just like last night. The internet says it's 29 outside right now. I miss Margate.

We are like 5 days behind in reading the bible. It’s going to be tough to catch up. At least we are into stories and out of Job. It’s getting so much less repetitive and they are repeating themselves less often and it’s much less repetitive too.

Project Runway leaving Bravo makes me sad. Not so much that it’s leaving makes me sad, but that I can’t find out any current information about it. Will it be on Lifetime? When will season 6 air? What is Fashion House?

An interesting bit of trivia: Audiences would show up to one of Andy Kaufman's stage performances expecting to see him perform as Latka, and heckling him with demands when he did not. Kaufman would punish these audiences with the announcement that he was going to read The Great Gatsby to them. The audience would laugh at this, not realizing that he was serious and would proceed to read the book to them, continuing despite audience members' departure. At a certain point, he would ask the audience if they wanted him to keep reading, or play a record. When the audience chose to hear the record, the record he cued up was a recording of him continuing to read The Great Gatsby from where he had left off. (Wikipedia)
