Cough cough

Since I ripped the zipper pull off my pants, a paperclip works suprisingly well. Another thing I learned: if you dampen the paper towel slightly before you blow your nose in it it doesn't hurt.

We get three weeks off looking for houses :)
We put in an offer on a short sale and gave them a month to decide. We start looking again in three weeks just in case the reject us. Let's hope that the third time's a charm!

I feel terrible.

I love Lauren & Ryan. They are so much fun!

Did you ever sunburn your eyelids?

I'm sick, sunburned, and cold. :( Today is going to be a long day.

This weeken Andrew and I went to St. George with Lauren & Ryan. It was a lot of fun. We all got weirdly burned. We didn't do such a hot job with the sunblock.

Yay! Lauren graduated! Party this weekend! Woot! *sniff* I'm so proud :)

Another faboulous thing about today: When I was zipping up my pants this morning I ripped the zipper handle right off.

I like coffee

More specifically I like foo-foo creamers. Coffee is nasty without cream and sugar.

My back is still bothering me. It’s a whole lot better though. Yesterday I even walked without a limp! Today it hurts a little more though.
I'm tired too. I think it might b e the muscle relaxants.

Happy St. Paddy's day!

I have a sprig of clovers in my hat, so no pinches for me!

Sunday:
We went out to UDave’s house and shot at clays. It was much fun. You can see the pictures with captions if you click on the slideshow to the left. We shipped out early to head down to Orlando.

We stayed at Lauren’s parent’s house because they are awesome. Andrew helped Kimmie with her homework and played chess with Lonnie. The horses are the most important pieces. Lonnie wouldn’t have lost if he had not given up both his horses. I’m just saying.

Monday:
We got up and Lauren took us to Animal Kingdom. It was so much fun! We went on Everest and a safari. Yay! Pictures are to the left. As soon as Picasa will let me upload videos, those’ll be up too. We ate lunch at this awesome Asian place. We got to see a white rhino and lots of animal butts. The gorillas were in a posing mood. Lauren is fun. We love Lauren. We saw the Lion King show last. It was pretty cool. We went to Epcot for dinner and fireworks. We ended up eating at Morocco. It was good! Apparently I freaked out. I don’t remember freaking out as bad as Andrew says I did. Sorry. Fireworks were awesome. We camped out in front of Italy. At the end of the night, Lauren’s wallet sunk to the bottom of the World Showcase Lagoon. Woohoo! After a while of filling out reports and such, we headed on our way back home.

Tuesday:
We went shopping briefly in the outlet mall by the turnpike. It was kind of fun. Lauren came on her way back to Disney to get a new ID and Main Gate and such. I realized on the way home that traveling on not-holiday weekends/days are awesome. Traffic was wonderful.

Friday:
We took a day-trip to St George. It was so nice out! We sunblocked and walked down the beach a while and dig a big hole under a log. Digging is fun. I have pictures, but alas, they are still on my camera. They’ll come off eventually. We ate a big lunch at Boss Oyster. I found it’s best to not look at oysters while you are eating them. Ew.

In other news, we think we’ve picked a lender for our house. It turns out it’s the one that works in Kenley’s office. Sa-weet! Today should be the last day of gathering stuff for her so she can pre-approve us and we can start looking at houses. Yay!

In even other news, the surgeon that did my surgery’s office blows. They owe me a bunch of money and they are a pain to get anything from. It took them 2 weeks to cash the check I gave them before the surgery. >:/ I’m going over there today to get the check, even if I have to wait.

I'm in a bad mood

I'm going to see Mimi tonight to help her. That means I need to call Lauren & Andrew. :(

I'm really good at complaining.

Happy Birthday Nicole!

It’s been busy at work this week and last week. We are converting everything to a new design and structure. I like it. The beta server has been really slow though, so it’s taking a long time to do anything. Which is why I have not updated in a while.

I’m almost all better though! Woot!

Also, everyone love on Andrew because he is the best!

Pictures will come later today if I have time :)

Chairs and kudos

So I got a “new” chair at work. There is a corner of the building where office things go to die. Two days ago, one of the big cushy conference room chairs was out there. The seat had ripped, but it was an otherwise good chair. So I asked if I could scarf it up to replace my squeaky chair. I brought the duct tape today and it’s good as new!

On another great note, I was able to sleep on my back fairly comfortably last night. Woot! I feel so much better today. I don’t feel as tired.

You know you frequent a place of business too much when you send them an anonymous letter and they know who you are. As I was filling out the survey from Bruegger’s, I figured I would send in a feedback form since I was already on the website. I praised the employees and said how much we love going there. Apparently, the corporate office sent the email to the store. Rebecca asked me about it this morning. The regional boss asked her if she knew who could have sent it and she was all like, “Pfft, I know. :)”

Allergies and football

If you didn't watch Super Bowl 43, then you missed a bunch. I think it was a really exciting game overall. Go Steelers! Woot! There were some fabulous plays. Like the 100 yd interception touchdown return with no time left in the 2nd.

I had a scratch test today. Apparently I’m allergic to peanuts and eggs. I’m to take some time off of those foods and take an antihistamine for a month and then start to reintroduce the foods back into my diet. If I have a reaction again, I’m to stop and keep taking the meds for another month or so. I have directions.

Donuts and realtors

I got my stitches out, but it wasn't healed. Now it hurts all over again.

But on a happier, unrelated note, I made donuts last night. Boy were they good. Now I just gotta learn how to fill them with jelly and I'll be golden. What I did was:
  1. Andrew got a can of biscuit dough for me from Publix
  2. I poked holes in the biscuits with a bottle cap so I could get the donut holes too.
  3. I fried them in Andrew's deep-fryer on like medium for maybe a minute or two on each side. I took out one and cut a chunk out to see if it was cooked and then tried to match the color, which worked out to a minute or two.
  4. I tossed them in cinnamon and sugar in a tupperware. Next time I think I'll spring for the paper bag. My sugar and stuff started to clump up and not stick to the donuts; maybe the bag does better.

I didn't know that biscuit dough and donut dough was the same. News to me.

We met with Kenley this morning. I like him. He told us to talk to banks and the apartment first before he starts showing us stuff so we know how much we can spend and when we can leave. He gave us this big binder full of stuff. He was joking about reading it and how boring it will be, but I'm sure me and Andrew will both read it. We told him most of what we want and most of what we don't want. There are always things you remember right after you leave. But we got in the long-houses that look like trailers and the pool and fireplace stuff. I want to be as helpful as I can.

Fluffy soft in real life
I know it’s tiny, but I needed to share this with the world. How to be a gentleman at a party.

Best-husband-ever

Stitches come out today hopefully. I don’t want to rush it. But oh my god, it is so good to sleep on my back again. It’ll be nice when the doctor’s check clears too. It’s been two weeks.

Andrew is the best husband ever. In a random need for baking last night, I decided to make this box of pink cake we had. The only problem was that I was one egg short. So after a little pissing and moaning, he went down to Lauren & Paige’s house to get me an egg. I think best-husband-ever felt better after he had some cake :)

I am no baker. I had a box of cake and managed to mangle it to death. I followed the directions too. They need a step in there in between the step to bake it for 30 minutes and the step to cool it for 15 on a cooling rack. The step should say leave it in the pan for a few minutes so that when you dump it onto the cooling rack you don’t rip the cake in half, which is what happens when you take the cake out of the oven and immediately flip it upsidedown on the cooling rack. Cake is cake though, so it all eats the same. It just looks really crappy. I used silicon cake pans sprayed with Pam and still got the cakes stuck. I like brownies better. I can make those. Or Andrew’s dump cake, which is what kind of cake I want for my birthday (hint hint Andrew).

It's been a while

It’s been a long time since last post. I feel better now. Yay!

So here’s what happened: I slept a lot. But seriously, TMH was great from what I remember. Everyone was really nice. They gave me something to “relax” that promptly made me fall asleep. I woke up once in recovery to throw up on myself. The nurse said something and shoved a towel on my shoulder. I fell back asleep. The second time however, I was aware enough to tell the nurse and she gave me a cup. The towel I think had disappeared by then. By the third time, I was pretty awake and got a new cup and they decided to give me something else to combat the nausea. Which almost immediately made me fall back to sleep. Andrew said it took a lot longer to wake up than they had told us.

We stopped to eat on the way home. My throat was really sore from the breathing tube I guess. I had to take a sip of water with every bite to get it to swallow. I didn’t eat much and I was falling asleep again. That’s pretty much how it went for a few days. They gave me Percocet, but it is more of an uncomfortable thing than a hurt thing, so I only ended up using a few. They didn’t help. I hate sleeping on my sides. I think I’m over the sleeping-on-my-side thing because Andrew said I was sleeping on my back snoring a few days ago.

We went to Ruby Tuesday for some “roughage” because all I had eaten in as few days was fries. When Andrew left to use the bathroom I began arguing with a song on the radio just as the waiter stopped by. I might be embarrassed the next time we go if I could remember who the guy was. Silly anesthesia.

Andrew’s family came over for pizza on Monday. It was the most that I was able to sit up without being dizzy. I think everyone had a good time.

I have one more appointment to get the stitches out and then I’ll be golden!

On a completely unrelated note, it was so cold this morning that all the grass had frost on it. I hope I didn’t kill my spider plants. We went to get coffee and there was such a layer of ice on the car that the cup kept sliding off the roof. Silly ice. Temperatures in the teens are too cold.

I'm all better

I'm all better now. I'm just recovering from the anesthesia. So I'm a bit sore everywhere and my throat hurts some and I'm oh so tired. I'll post more about it later. TMH was wonderful :)

Surgery

Ew. I have to be at the hospital at 7:30 tomorrow. Why do surgeons get up so early? I can't eat or drink after midnight, so I guess early is better. I can't even have water. I think I'm making myself sick. My stomach has been upset for two days. Friday will be better.

Andrew is going to make beer in preperation for the beer-making-demonstration-party. Sporty Spice.

Surgery

So the doctor finally called me back (it only took two days). It seriously took 3 minutes of the scheduler’s time. Surgery is Thursady. Woot >:( Pre-op is on Monday.

More of my time these last few days was spent creating this look. So I don’t have a lot of content today.

I think I’m sick. I’m supposed to be taking antibiotics. I hope that clears up the cough.

I'm on an animation kick

My leg was itchy last night so, being without nails, I used a hairclip to scratch. This morning Andrew said my leg looks like it has tetanus. I have no idea what that means. It hurts when my pants touch it. I won’t scratch with a hairclip anymore.

So this morning on the way to work, Andrew did something that made me angry and I told him to shut up. In the time that it took for us to drive from Tharpe to Tennessee down High, I completely forgot why I was mad, I just remembered that I was mad. At the light Andrew apologized and I told him I forgot why I was mad. He said something along the lines of “that’s one of the perks of being married to someone with short term memory problems”. I love Andrew.

Micro-sleep and dreams

So I had a weird dream last night. Andrew and I went to go see the Nutcracker in my mind’s rendition of Ruby Diamond, except it was kind of like High School Musical (I think, I’ve never seen it). It was very upbeat and modern with no ballet. Towards the end, three of the performers zipped up cables to the upper deck and danced a little on a platform. They then jumped off and flew around on the cables a little (like Tinker Bell did). Then three ballet dancers (now it was a ballet) came and acrobatically hooked things that were attached to their feet to the top of the cables the other people were hanging on. They all zipped down head first except the one closest to where we were sitting. Her thing didn’t hook right and she fell head first into the seats below (but lucky for her they were a whole lot closer than in real life). The manager, or whatever he was, was standing right in the aisle and was quick to shout at everyone to calm down and not to panic. I looked over the edge and the lady was in a pile, but she didn’t look broken or bloody or anything. The manager ushered everyone in the lower bowl out and the folks at the top filed out too. When we were outside, the ballerina came out with her arm in a sling and head bandaged up and everyone clapped. They were about to let us back in, but then our alarm went off and I woke up.

In between that dream and when I got up, I had another dream, kinda. Andrew was like, “Get up, are you gonna take a shower?” And I was all “:( I don’t want to get up.” Then like 2 seconds later Andrew was like “Get up, are you gonna take a shower?” And I was all “WTF? Didn’t we just do this?” The second one was really Andrew waking me up. The first one was a dream.

I need to get up earlier. Did you ever have one of those moments in the car where you were driving along la de da and then you were stopped at a light or on a road and don’t really remember the trip to that point? I had one of those this morning from about Gaines to Magnolia. No idea. I know how I got there, I just can’t recall any of the details; what car was in front of me, how many cars there were, etc. I’m afraid that it might be “micro sleep”. I sincerely hope not.

Wikipedia says:
“People who experience microsleeps usually remain unaware of them, instead believing themselves to have been awake the whole time, or feeling a sensation of 'spacing out'. One example is called "gap driving". From the perspective of the driver, he or she was driving a car, and then suddenly realizes that several seconds have passed by unnoticed. It is not obvious to the driver that he was asleep during those missing seconds, although this is in fact what happened.”
