Milk & Cereal

So I found this cool recipe website. There are lots of tips too on keeping your grocery bill down. I was thinking about trying powdered milk instead of regular milk because Andrew and I just don't drink it fast enough. It sits in the back of the fridge with a bit left in the jug and spoils. The stupid milk actually separates. I didn’t think that processed milk could separate. I guess it turns into curds and whey. Ew. So I was thinking powdered milk. I remember that I liked the carnation un-refrigerated milk that we had a long, long time ago. Like elementary school long time ago. It had a cow on the box. :) I think that we are going to start eating cereal in the mornings. Hot fries and cherry soda do not a good breakfast make.

Also, the lady that writes the blog has some cool soup ideas I think I want to try. After letting the butternut soup go bad and feeling terrible for it, I think it will be good for me to start making single serving things. I got a box of shells and cheese for Tuesday dinners, and if there’s extra, I can take that to work on Wednesdays.

So, how ‘bout Wachovia? I hope everything works out fine. It would really suck if, say, they did away with the Way2Save. I really like that idea. It’s really easy; everything just costs a dollar more. I like the points idea that Andrew gets on his card too.

So I’ve discovered the best job to have during a recession or a depression. A deep-freezer salesman. Somewhere on the internet, I don’t remember where, it was probably CNN, I read that when the economy gets bad, that people stock up on food and they usually need somewhere to put it. We saw some at Sam’s when we went last. I think we’ll get one when we get a house.

To kill a mockinbird, or at least crush his dreams

This weekend was good. Andrew let me sleep way in on Sunday while he did laundry. He’s so awesome.

Lauren came by too. She had a new dress. It was pretty. It reminded us of the Powerpuff Girls though.

So I’ve decided that Andrew has replaced Florida State Football in my heart. Since I’ve met him I don’t watch games really anymore. I still care, but not enough to stand up for 4 hours to support them. I still bleed Garnet & Gold, but I think somewhere along the way I grew up. But if someone wanted to give me their extra tickets to the grown-up-sit-down-section, I wouldn’t turn them down.

Andrew told me this morning that my soup was probably bad. I trust him because he’s pretty much smarter than me. I can draw circles around him (lol) and start the tech-speak, but other than that I think he’s got me beat. I’m ok with that. I love him :)

So Florida is getting a new state bird. Poor old Mr. Mockingbird didn’t even make the list of possibles. When the site is up to vote, I’ll post it. My vote will be going for the Brown Pelican. I like them. They are big and scary. I wouldn’t go so far as to say that my imaginary sports team would be the Pelicans, but I wouldn’t want to have a throw down with an adult pelican.

So speaking of sports team names, I’m not 100% sure what my team would be. Swordfish would be ok, but it’s still kind of lame. The Dragon Slayers sounds too much like a Buffy thing. The Kimoto Dragons. The Praying Mantis. Sweetums.

Check out the right hand menu. All the previous posts will be listed there as well as anything that catches my interest. The pumpkin is obscuring it right now, but if you scroll you can find it. I'm still trying to come up with a better look for Halloween.

This is enough for one post. I’ll do more later.

Pumpkins

This is take one of my decorating for Halloween.

I like the pumpkin. :)

I used pretty much the same css for this as for the palm-tree look. I just changed up the colors, fonts and added a pumpkin.

Warm, Sandy Beaches

Warm, Sandy Beaches was too much to type, and really kinda lame. Buzza The Great sounds so much better, but a little conceited. So, I picked Little Freckle Face. Pap called me that.

I think I'm going to decorate this page for the seasons. I'm going to start working on a Halloween template in my spare time. So exciting!

My Second Post

I did it! I know it's not perfect, but I like it. This look required hours and hours of sifting through two very complex css files, a few html files and an xml file that made no sense. Oh, and an entirely unhelpful user interface. I sound smart, right? lol

I got the majority of my css from CSS Zen Garden. It's a cool place that they need to update more often. Then I had to take apart the css that came wiith this blog to make the new css fit. Sheesh, what they make you go through to fully customize your pages!

I'm not as happy with the faded look of the text, but until I learn a little more xml it's going to stay this way.

On another note (I promise I won't be nerding all the time), Andrew, Lauren, Ryan and I went to see Get Smart at the movies last night. It was really funny. There was this one part that I found histerical and throughout the rest of the movie, every time there was a quiet part or a not funny part, it would pop into my head and I'd start cracking up. Lauren started laughing at me. It was so dumb. But worth the 75 cents we paid for it lol. Half-off night at the dollar theater is great. It cost more for a soda at the consession stand than it did for all 4 of us to see the movie.

Favorite parts of Get Smart:

  1. When the chief was having trouble saying the guy's name and Max was correcting him to no avail and quietly he comes off with, "Kris Kringle, fish sticks". I laughed so hard for so long and its so stupid.

  2. "If it was, 'Oh crap! Oh crap! I almost got stabbed in the face by a swordfish!' then yes."

  3. The Rock stapling the paper to the guy's forehead

  4. The fact that the good guys were actually really good shots

  5. The guy that is American Dad and a whole bunch of stuff at Disney

I also like the fact that ryan can park his bike behind our car in a parking spot and still have room.

My First Post

Yay! After some hard thinking about what to name this stupid blog, I came up with Warm Sandy Beaches. Really for no reason. My first choice, Circles & Dots was already taken. Now, I just have to figure out how to edit the template and css and we'll be good to go! It might even make it look like a warm sandy beach, who knows?

I'm such a nerd. I went to the government technology conference today and went to three of the "classes". The first one was super fun and cool. It's kind of why I started this. I wanted a blog for a long time, but never got around to it. But now I know a few special fun things that I want to try.

I'm going to try and have a links section too. At least I'm going to try to keep up making posts. :)
